TriNav Fisheries Consultants Inc. (TFC) is a professional Atlantic Canadian fisheries and business consulting firm that provides services to the marine industry throughout Atlantic and Northern Canada.
On their behalf, we seek an individual with experience and knowledge of the commercial fishing industry on the east coast of Canada to serve as Senior Fisheries Consultant.
Located in the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office, this role will conduct economic, business and scientific assessments for the aquaculture and commercial fishery sectors, work closely with clients and stakeholders and support TFC’s future business development efforts.
What qualities and skills are required as a Fisheries Consultant?
As the ideal candidate, you have at least five years of experience working in a fisheries and/or aquaculture field and an in-depth understanding of the issues and challenges facing the development of commercial fisheries opportunities. Your academic experience includes a degree in a fisheries science or policy-related field; however, a relevant business degree will be considered.
You have a strong understanding of the seafood and aquaculture industries. Familiarity with indigenous commercial fishery and aquaculture sectors is a definite asset.
You are a detail-oriented person with first-rate writing, problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Your technical abilities are complemented by strong interpersonal skills that enable you to engage constructively and effectively with clients and stakeholders. A highly collaborative person by nature, you thrive best in a close-knit team environment.
