General Manager - Kings Transit Authority - POSITION FILLED

Kings Transit Authority is a public transit service operating in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. Funded by the County of Kings and the Towns of Berwick, Kentville and Wolfville, the service operates daily from Wolfville to Weymouth. It is governed by a Board of Directors – appointed by the municipal funding partners – who set the overall policies and strategic direction.

What qualities are needed as General Manager?

As General Manager, you are the senior administrative leader of the Authority, responsible for the overall management of the organization.

As the ideal candidate, you have several years’ management experience in administration or management roles, preferably in the transportation sector. You have suitable academic credentials and an ability to build consensus among various stakeholders such as elected officials, staff, other levels of government, and citizens. 

You have well-rounded skills in finance, operations, administration, human resources, customer service, public relations, and governance. You also understand the value of long-term strategic planning.

Personally, you have a successful track record of accomplishments and possess well-developed personal qualities in communications, problem solving,  leadership, and, most important, integrity.
