Executive Director New Brunswick Dental Society / Société Dentaire du Nouveau-Brunswick

The New Brunswick Dental Society / Société Dentaire du Nouveau-Brunswick is a self-governing, self-regulating organization whose mission is to regulate and promote oral health among New Brunswickers. The Society serves as the membership and regulatory body for over 300 dentists in the province. It also is responsible for the licensing requirements of more than 500 dental assistants.

On their behalf, we are seeking an experienced bilingual (French and English) professional as its Executive Director.

What qualities are needed as Executive Director?

Reporting to a Board of Directors, you will be responsible for providing advice and direction on strategic and policy matters that affect the organization. 

Collaborative by nature, you will maintain effective relationships with the provincial government and other key stakeholders as you advocate for the interests of dentists and the dental profession in general.

You will also liaise regularly with your peers across Canada in the various provincial and national associations as you work closely together on matters of strategic importance to the profession. 

As the ideal candidate, you are strong in government relations and advocacy roles, and can build consensus with people and groups to meet challenging objectives.

Operationally, you must be a skillful administrator who can deliver in the day-to-day operations of the organization including member services, human resources, finances, public affairs, and administration. You also have a thorough understanding of governance processes and enjoy working with elected bodies.

You possess appropriate academic credentials in business, economics, health care, association management, or a related field. An understanding of current and emerging issues within the health care sector is desired.
