Now in its 35th year, Ulnooweg provides a range of financial and community development services, including loans, grants, and consulting support to entrepreneurs, community enterprises and commercial projects. The organization has grown significantly over its history and now includes an charitable organization and a unique communities foundation, in addition to its core business.
The organization is poised for continued growth and is now seeking a seasoned financial professional as Chief Financial Officer to support this growth.
What qualities are needed as CFO?
In this role, you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the senior management team in the areas of finance and accounting.
Working with an experienced and motivated team, you will oversee financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, financial planning, risk management, internal controls, funding, and banking.
As the ideal candidate, you are a CPA with senior level financial management skills and experience. In addition to your well-developed expertise in finance and accounting, you have proven organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Most importantly, you are a strong leader who can operate easily at both the strategic and tactical levels.
Lastly, you must be passionate about making a positive impact in the community, ideally Indigenous communities. You must be committed to the concept of community enterprises and innovation, and able to work constructively in a dynamic, positive and highly productive team environment.
