Grand View Manor is a community-governed, non-profit, long-term care home located in Kings County, Nova Scotia. The home serves 142 nursing home residents and more than 70 tenants in assisted living and enriched housing.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are seeking a highly-respected individual to guide the organization as its new CEO.
What you will do as CEO?
In this role, you will see that the mission, vision and values of Grand View Manor are carried out with integrity and understanding. You will ensure that all residents receive excellent care and services and that their families receive regular communication about their well-being. This involves:
Likewise, you will demonstrate the same degree of leadership and care toward over 200 staff members who work in challenging situations daily. This means supporting them with mentoring and training, and by providing regular performance feedback.
Operationally, you will have overall responsibility for management of the organization including governance, finances, facilities, quality control, human resources, administration, licensing, and risk management.
What qualities does the CEO need?
You have senior level management experience coupled with a deep understanding of the health care sector. You are a collaborative leader with an impressive track record building consensus among many partners such as governments, employees, unions, residents, health authorities, and the community at large.
You are familiar with the challenges facing the long-term care sector, and you bring well-rounded expertise in finance, administration, human resources, operations, physical plant, health and safety, and stakeholder relations.
You have a Master’s degree (MSW, MBA, MPA, or MHA) or advanced education that will allow you to complete the degree within a short time.
You possess well-developed personal qualities including integrity, initiative, communication and leadership skills. Further, you have a strong appreciation for governance issues and understand the importance of an effective Board/staff relationship.
