ACENET is a consortium of Atlantic Canadian Universities providing access to advanced research computing resources, expertise, software, training, and support. The organization helps local researchers and industry use advanced computing to accelerate discovery and innovation in Atlantic Canada.
ACENET is sustained by financial and in-kind support from the member institutions, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, ACOA, and the provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
On their behalf, we are seeking a Chief Executive Officer to replace the incumbent who is leaving in November.
What qualities are needed for this role?
As the CEO of ACENET, you have appropriate academic credentials and senior-level experience in business, information technology, the public sector, or academia. Most important, you have a strong appreciation of post-secondary research and understand how IT supports and facilitates the advancement of this research.
To be considered, you must have a unique mix of skills including the ability to provide long-term strategic thinking and the management and organizational skills to implement this vision.
Your range of skills includes human resources, financial management, communications, service delivery, and risk management. You are skillful in building, maintaining, and leveraging relationships with numerous stakeholders and funding agencies.
Lastly, you have proven experience working with a Board of Directors and bring a complete understanding of governance.
Staff of ACENET work at the various member universities across Atlantic Canada. The CEO position can be based at any of those universities, which means that you will have to manage staff remotely and some travel will be required.
