The Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council (NSCSC) is a not-for-profit organization established to communicate and consult with the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction sector on matters relating to human resource planning, research, and skills development.
On their behalf we are seeking training experts for the following roles:
Training Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director this senior position will work with a team of two Training Coordinators to execute on the deliverables and objectives for a 4.5 year federally funded initiative to develop a ‘pilot’ project to deliver industry-based training.
This role requires robust project management experience and excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English.
Additionally, your highly facilitative leadership style will enable you to provide coaching, support and direction to the Training Coordinators.
Training Coordinator
Reporting to the Training Manager and working with a Training Coordinator for Cape Breton and other project staff, this position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating industry training programs that support forecasted construction work in Mainland Nova Scotia.
Oral and written communication skills in French will be considered an asset.
What else will it take to succeed in these roles?
You are experienced in curriculum development, training delivery and training program recruitment. You are equally skilled at working independently and as part of a larger team.
Personally, you are highly action-oriented and a stickler for detail. You thrive in a dynamic environment and have the demonstrated ability to problem solve and adapt on the fly. Your exceptional engagement skills enable you to foster strong relationships with government, industry, partners, colleagues, and program participants. You are adept and experienced at working with people from diverse cultures.
Experience with and/or knowledge of the construction industry is an asset.
Both positions are 4.5-year terms, operate out the NSCSC’s Halifax Office, and require travel throughout Nova Scotia.
