Senior Audit Principal / Audit Principal Filled

Halifax, NS

The Office of the Auditor General of Nova Scotia is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance concerning government operations, the use of public funds, and the integrity of financial and performance reports.

The Province of Nova Scotia recently added to the Auditor General’s responsibilities the establishment of a designated Health Auditor. To support the Office’s mandate, including this new, innovative initiative, we seek two professionals to join the Performance Audit Team as either a Senior Audit Principal or Audit Principal.

Reporting to the Auditor General and Deputy Auditor General, the Senior Audit Principal leads an engagement team within the Office’s Performance Audit practice, while the Audit Principal reports directly to the Senior Audit Principal.

The Performance Audit Team conducts performance or value-for-money audits, which examine government programs or operations to determine if they are achieving their objectives. These performance audits could relate to governance, value-for-money (effectiveness, economy, and efficiency), internal controls, information technology, and compliance.
