Registrar Filled

Halifax, NS

The Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia, the legislated body responsible for protecting the public’s interests in matters related to the delivery of care by dentists and registered dental assistants, is seeking a Registrar to replace the incumbent who is retiring.

Reporting to a Board of Directors of twelve members, you will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and be accountable for all duties and responsibilities delegated to the Registrar under the Dental Act.

As the ideal candidate, you must be a licensed dentist or eligible for licensing, in Nova Scotia. Professionally, you bring a deep understanding of the practice of dentistry and dental assisting including the technical, regulatory, and legal aspects of the professions. Through your work and professional activities, you have gained a firm understanding of governance and appreciate the relationship that exists between members of the Board and senior staff on strategic and management issues.

You have strong administrative capabilities to ensure the efficient running of the office, and well-developed personal leadership qualities that enable you to motivate staff to meet challenging objectives.

Personally, you have a collaborative and consultative approach to doing business. You are open-minded, empathetic, and decisive. You seek practical solutions to problems and can operate at the strategic and tactical levels at the same time.
