Managing Director — Filled
Established in 1970, the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation has worked closely with the community to help fund building expansions and invest in much-needed equipment, facilities, and programs at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital and to fulfill its mission of building better health care for the families and individuals of Southwest Nova Scotia.
With the coming retirement of the incumbent, the Foundation is now seeking a seasoned fundraising leader to assume the challenging and rewarding role of Managing Director.

First and foremost, you are a fundraising professional with an impressive track record of developing and leading diverse fundraising programs. Your experience touches all aspects of fundraising including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, individual gifts, direct mail, and events.
To support your work, you understand the value in maintaining positive relationships with prospects, donors, volunteers, medical professionals, hospital administrators, and community partners.
Organizationally, you are skillful at building long-term strategic plans and short-term operational plans. You are familiar with good governance practices and have enjoyed positive relationships with all Boards and committees you worked with.
Operationally, you build high-performing teams of staff and volunteers to work with you and you instill a culture of excellence within these teams through leading by example.
You understand both financial and non-financial performance metrics and you build reporting systems to ensure these targets are measured and achieved.
Externally, you must be comfortable in a highly visible promotional role as you serve as the “face” of the organization and engage with its many external stakeholders such as media, community groups, governments, and the public. You should also be astute in public relations and social media as you build and maintain a strong profile for the Foundation.
