Manager of Finance and Compliance — Filled
The Nova Scotia Liberal Party is seeking an energetic and committed individual to serve as their next Manager of Finance and Compliance.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for managing the accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and administration for the Party.
In this role, you will be an important liaison with several groups including provincial caucus, various directors and staff, the Provincial Board of Directors, and the Party’s volunteer leadership in each of the 55 provincial ridings to keep activities running smoothly and to meet organizational goals.
This is a small but busy office and, while the focus of the job is finance and compliance, you must be adaptable to perform a wide range of other duties especially during election campaigns and major fundraising events.
What qualities are needed in this role?
As the ideal candidate, you have a breadth of skills and experience in accounting, office management, budgeting, and administration. Ideally, this experience has been gained working in a small office. You are comfortable being hands-on and bring excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, personal responsibility, and accountability to your work.
A business degree and some formal training in accounting is preferred.
Previous experience in a political organization is not required although a personal interest in the political and electoral process in Nova Scotia would help you understand the motivations of people who are engaged. Understandably, you must be able to support the principles and policies of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party.
