Fisheries Training Technical Advisor and Coordinator — Filled
Ulnooweg Development Group is seeking a Fisheries Training Technical Advisor and Coordinator to join a team of professional advisors who provide advice and assistance in business planning, management, development, and training to Indigenous Communities and their Commercial Fisheries Enterprises.
Reporting to the Business Development Team Lead, you will provide support specifically related to the training of fisheries management, commercial fish harvesters, and aquaculture workers within Indigenous Communities in Atlantic Canada and Quebec.
What qualities are needed in this role?
Ideally, you have post-secondary education in community development, economic development, adult education, or human resources with several years’ experience in a related role.
In this role, you must have technical knowledge of fisheries and fisheries training or a demonstrated ability to learn specific industry training needs and communicate them effectively.
You have experience working with Indigenous communities on governance and community development matters and, in particular, understand the challenges and opportunities within the Indigenous fisheries sector.
You are self-motivated and possess a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. You are an effective facilitator and can professionally represent Ulnooweg at meetings with government officials, affiliated organizations, and the public.
Some ability to speak and understand French is an asset. Frequent travel within the Atlantic and Quebec region is required for this position. Ulnooweg requires that all new employees be fully vaccinated for Covid.
