Executive Director — Filled
Ocean View Continuing Care Centre has been part of the community of Eastern Passage since 1967 and is home to 171 residents. Originally owned by the Halifax Regional Municipality, Ocean View operates as a continuing care facility under the direction of a community Board of Directors.
On their behalf, we seek an experienced and highly motivated professional to serve as their Executive Director. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the overall direction and effective administration of Ocean View Continuing Care and Birches Nursing Home, including all community programs and services that are part of the social enterprise.

First and foremost, you are an exceptional leader who can combine long-term, strategic thinking with the day-to-day management of the organization.
With a graduate degree and background in health services, you bring demonstrated human resource leadership experience to support their 450 full and part-time employees.
You are a hands-on leader committed to continuous improvement. You are highly empathetic with excellent relationship, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
As the primary interface with the Board of Directors of both Ocean View and The Birches, you are knowledgeable of good governance practices. In this role, you can work collaboratively with both Boards, keeping them abreast of all external and internal issues that could affect their respective organizations.
Operationally, you bring strong business acumen and well-honed skills in financial and resource management, operations, change management, policy development, risk management, and strategic planning. Experience in long-term care accreditation and negotiating collective agreements would be an asset.
