MacGregors Industrial Group has been providing industrial products and services to industry in Atlantic Canada and abroad for more than 45 years. Headquartered in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, MacGregors’ strategic business units include Industrial Field Services, Metal Fabrication, Machining, and Industrial Supply.
On their behalf, we are recruiting an experienced finance professional for the role of Director of Finance.
What qualities are needed for the Director of Finance?
In this role, you will report directly to the President and CEO and be responsible for leading, managing and developing the Accounting and Finance department as the company continues its significant growth.
As a key management team member, you will contribute to overall company and division strategy development and execution. Leading the Accounting and Finance team, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, cash flow management, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, monthly and year-end reporting, banking and insurance, and internal control policies and procedures.
As the ideal candidate, you have a professional accounting designation and experience as a Controller or Director of Finance in a business with annual revenues of $20 to $40 million annually. In addition to your well-developed expertise in finance and accounting, you have proven organizational, communication, and human resource leadership skills.
A strategic thinker, you possess exemplary business acumen and solid analytical and problem-solving abilities. In addition, your exceptional interpersonal and communications skills enable you to work collaboratively and communicate complex financial data in an easy-to-understand way to both financial and non-financial managers across all divisions. You will also be the key contact with the company’s external accountants, bankers, lawyers, and insurance and benefits providers.
Rounding out your background, significant IT systems experience and first-hand knowledge of fabrication, industrial services or other manufacturing industries would be definite assets.
