Assistant Evaluator — Filled
Skeena Fisheries Commission is the Skeena Watershed aboriginal organization that focuses on fisheries management, science, and conservation. Skeena hosts the Business Development Team, a team of fisheries and aquaculture advisors that work with Indigenous communities and Commercial Fishing Enterprises in all aspects of business development and access to resources from the Pacific Integrated Commercial Fishing Initiative (PICFI).
On their behalf, we seek an individual for the role of Assistant Evaluator. This person will support the Independent Third-Party Evaluator during their review of applications submitted to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada under various Indigenous programs related to commercial fishing and aquaculture in the Pacific Region.
What qualities are needed in this role?
Ideally, you bring a business or economics background with extensive experience in commercial fishing or aquaculture. You possess strong research and analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail. Exceptional written communication skills complement these.
You can be highly organized and productive in a remote work situation.
Experience working with First Nations communities in British Columbia is a definite asset.
Preference will be given to qualified individuals from the Gitxsan, Wet’suwet’en, and Gitanyow Nations, and other Indigenous candidates.
This position is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere in the Pacific Region. Some travel will be required.
Salary range is $95,000 – $115,000, based on experience.
