Use Courtesy When Rejecting Job CandidatesHow you treat unsuccessful job candidates is just as important as how you treat the successful ones. More often than not, employers fail to contact those applicants who have applied for a job but for whatever reason were not successful. Whether it is to avoid delivering bad news or simply an oversight, not doing so can be costly from a public relations perspective. If an individual is no longer being considered for a position, it is much better to be prompt and honest in conveying this information to them. Saying "No, thank you" with respect and courtesy will go a long way. All people want to know is the truth about where they stand. Remember, the candidate you turn down today may be a highly-sought-after employee tomorrow. The impression you leave about your company can last a long time.
