Controller Our client, a successful manufacturer, is seeking a seasoned accounting professional as Controller. Based in Halifax and reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership in the accounting and finance area. Specifically, you will oversee all financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, project costing, and cash management. Managing an experienced staff, you will ensure adherence to all accounting, finance and procurement policies, and monitor compliance with Canadian tax and other regulatory requirements. Other responsibilities include monitoring internal controls, safeguarding company assets and accounting records, and interfacing with internal and external audit agencies. As the ideal candidate, you hold a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) and have several years managerial experience preferably in a manufacturing setting. Possessing a solid understanding of financial reporting in a publicly-traded company and detailed knowledge of US and Canadian GAAP as well as IFRS, you have the capability and work ethic to manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment. Your personal leadership skills are well-developed, enabling you to interact effectively with staff, peers, superiors and others at corporate office. You are well organized and utilize effective time management skills to meet deadlines. Salary is in the $90,000+ range. |
