Executive Director The Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, a membership-based organization representing over 500 pharmacists throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking an experienced, senior-level professional as its Executive Director. Based in St. John’s and reporting to a Council of eleven members, you will assume overall responsibility for providing strategic leadership to the organization. In this key role, you will liaise on a frequent basis with the provincial government to ensure effective relationships exist and that regulators understand the interests of all pharmacists. Operationally, you will be responsible for all day-to-day management including member services, public affairs, media relations, government relations, finances, human resources, and administration. You will also play a strong advocacy role, promoting the interests of all members and the pharmacy profession in general.Within the office, you will manage a small staff, providing proper direction to them as they support members, Council, and various committees. Nationally, you will play a vital role as you work closely with other provincial and national associations on matters of strategic importance to the profession. As the ideal candidate, you are a collaborative professional leader with a solid understanding of association management. A strategic thinker and visionary, you have a thorough comprehension of governance processes and possess an interpersonal style that promotes cooperation and understanding among stakeholders. Adept at government relations, you are an excellent communicator and consensus builder and can motivate people to meet challenging objectives. Ideally, you have knowledge of issues within the health care sector and possess relevant academic and professional qualifications. |
