Executive Director
Project # 1452W

Our client, the Parkinson Society Maritime Region, is seeking a multi-talented professional to become its next Executive Director.

As the Executive Director of the Maritime Region, your role will be to assist the Society in re-establishing strategic objectives and lead the implementation of this plan within the context of the Parkinson Society Canada framework. This will include responsibility for integrated fund development, human resources management for staff and volunteers, program administration and delivery, and marketing and communication strategies. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Board Chair, you will build strong relationships in the community as you liaise with outside supporters and stakeholders, including corporate groups, government officials, donors, volunteers, and other health related communities. You will also manage day-to-day activities such as finance, human resources and operations. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role nationally as you work collaboratively with other regions on strategic initiatives.

As the ideal candidate, you have several years’ of senior level leadership experience, ideally in the not-for-profit sector. Having worked with a Board of Directors, you have a solid understanding of governance issues and are adaptable to the changing composition of a Board over time. Understanding the impact of a well-designed communications and marketing strategy, you have managed effective fundraising activities and programs. Additionally, your track record speaks volumes about your leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills and you possess well-honed financial, human resource and program management expertise. Your ability to motivate volunteers and staff is well recognized, while your collaborative and consultative approach to conducting business is very much respected. Knowledge of health care issues would be beneficial in this role.
