Executive Director As Executive Director of the Offshore Energy Associations, you will play a major role in the research and development of the energy sector in Nova Scotia. Consisting of two separate entities – one focused on environmental research and the other on technical research – these not-for-profit organizations have received $26 million in total funding from the Province of Nova Scotia to promote research aimed at stimulating renewed offshore energy exploration activity. As Executive Director, you will report to the Board of Directors of each of the Associations you will be supporting. The job of Executive Director is a challenging position that requires a seasoned leader highly proficient at managing complex relationships in academia, research, industry, government, and the community. Skilful interpersonally, you must be able to build consensus among these various stakeholders while moving research agendas forward, on time and within budget. Ideally, you have sound knowledge of the current state of the offshore energy industry in Nova Scotia, as well as an understanding of scientific research, review, funding and awards.
