Health, Safety and Environment Manager Our client, a leading company in the energy sector with 87 terminal facilities worldwide, is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Manager, based in the Strait of Canso area. Working closely with field operations and supervisors, you will support, coordinate and ensure compliance with corporate health, safety and environmental programs, ensuring that a safe and healthy workplace exists for all employees. In this role, you will design and deliver training programs and implement testing protocols to comply with all provincial Acts and Regulations. Maintaining high visibility within the facility, you will inspect structures, equipment, inventories and buildings to identify any potential hazardous or unsafe conditions and subsequently initiate corrective measures. You will also be responsible for drafting and presenting OHS and environment specific reports, maintaining occupational injury and environmental incident files, coordinating emergency response exercises and drills, and liaising with government authorities on health, safety, and environmental matters. As the ideal candidate, you have several years’ health, safety and environmental experience in a petroleum or industrial setting. Possessing a CRSP designation and a university degree in a related discipline, you understand the importance of leadership and working within a set of ‘guiding principles.’ You have a proactive approach to problem solving and are capable of making challenging decisions. You recognize the impact of good communication with field operations and staff for the success of business and demonstrate these qualities in your work. Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations affecting terminal operations would also be an asset. |
