Our client, a well-established law firm located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, is seeking an experienced business professional as its Manager of Administration.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all administrative and financial aspects of the office, including supervision of support staff.Effectively, you will serve as the “go to” person in the firm charged with the responsibility of the efficient running of the practice thereby freeing up the legal team to focus on practicing law. You will provide guidance to the partners on an ongoing basis on how to run an efficient and profitable practice through good management of all financial, operational and human resource aspects of the firm. With a solid understanding of accounting, you will manage the overall finances of the firm and take the lead role in assisting partners with annual business planning. From a human resources perspective, you will supervise all support staff including recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, and training and development.

As the ideal candidate, you are experienced in both financial management and supervising administrative staff preferably in a professional services environment. You have significant experience in accounting and possess strong leadership, analytical and communication skills. You have considerable management experience and a “knack” for operational efficiencies. Comfortable with financial and management information systems, you demonstrate self-motivation and complete accountability for the roles described above.
